Lt. Robert Preczewski and Officer Michael Page currently staff the Salem Police Department Traffic Division. The Division investigates traffic and parking complaints as well as makes recommendations to the City Council regarding traffic changes. The Division addresses complaints involving abandoned vehicles and overweight vehicles on public ways.
Taxi licenses are also investigated and issued through the Traffic Division. The licensing process also includes taxicab inspections and citizen complaints involving taxis.
As a part of the Administrative Services Division, the Traffic Division will also supplement and assist the Patrol Division as needed.
Taxi Inspections and License Investigations
Taxi licenses and taxi vehicle inspections are conducted Mondays from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
